---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overview:
RBBSPCBV 1.0.0 is a conversion program that converts the RBBS users,
messages, and RBBS-PC.DEF files into a file used by PCBVER30.EXE called
PCBV.SYS. This allows RBBS-PC to use the PCBVERIFY door for new user
verification and it also allows the callback mode in PCBVER30.EXE to be
accessed by a registered user who has a noisy line.
To use this conversion program you need the following;
PCBV30B7.ZIP This is the verify program
RBBSPCBV.ZIP This is the conversion program for RBBS-PC
The above programs are available on PBBS 615-579-1125.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE:
Follow the instructions in both RBBSPCBV.DOC and in PCBVER30 exactly.
If you should have problems you may contact me at PBBS 615-579-1125
or Gary Mcgill at Smoky Mountain BBS 615-992-6732 for help with
RBBSPCBV only. Questions about PCBVER30 or PCBVERIFY should be addressed
to Curtis Kowalski at Premier BBS 615-675-3244.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION OF RBBSPCBV.EXE
Your board must be configured like the following in order for RBBSPCBV
to work.
C:\RBBS\USERS The directory where the RBBS-PC users file is stored
C:\RBBS\MESSAGES The directory where the RBBS-PC messages are stored
C:\RBBS\RBBS-PC.DEF The directory where RBBS.DEF is stored
Now make a directory off of the ROOT directory (not off of the RBBS
directory) like this;
CD\
MD PCBV
This will make a directory called PCBV where your PCBVER30 files and
program will be stored.
Copy all the files from both RBBSPCBV.ZIP and PCBVER30B.ZIP into this
directory.
Run the file PCBVSET (this is included in pcbver30B.ZIP ).
Enter the information exactly like the following !!!
Name of configuration file......(you type) PCBV.CNF
COM port to use.....(whichever you are using 1 or 2) (you type) COM1 or 2
Be sure to type COM before entering the port number !
Baud rate to lock modem in at.....(you type) N
Location of SYS file.....(you type) C:\PCBV
Name of system file.....(you select) PCBV.SYS
Name of your system.....(you type) Your boards name
Registration number (you type) 0
Name of results file (just hit ENTER)
Name of verify log (you type) TEST.LOG
Name and location of PCBVerify log...(you type) C:\PCBV\VERIFY.LOG
Security level of new user... The level of YOUR new users
D/L limit....(you type)0
Callback mode enabled ....(you type) Y
Expiration date....(just press ENTER)
New expired level (just press ENTER)
This will build your configuration file for PCBVER30.
If you have registered PCBVERIFY through Premiere BBS 615-675-3244
which I hope you have or will in the near future, the trashcan file and
long distance trashcan file are active. You may answer "Y" to both these
prompts. If you are using and unregistered version both these files are
inactive and anything you place in them while running PCBVSET.EXE will be
ignored.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
BAT FILES:
Install the following BAT file into your RBBS directory
CD\PCBV
RBBSPCBV.EXE
PCBVER30.EXE PCBV.CNF %1
CD\RBBS
RBBS.BAT
Name this batch file whatever the name of your verification door will be
on MENU5 and MENU5C.
EXAMPLE;
Lets say you wanted to name the door NEWUSER
Here is how to create the batch file.
Make sure you are in the RBBS directory !!!
COPY CON NEWUSER.BAT
CD\PCBV
RBBSPCBV.EXE
PCBVER30.EXE PCBV.CNF
CD\RBBS
RBBS.BAT
^Z
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
CAUTION !!!!! IF YOU LOG ON RBBS-PC REMOTELY USING PARAMETER 121
With the unregistered version of RBBSPCBV.EXE you must go into confi.exe
for RBBS-PC and set parameter 121 if you log on remotely and are going
to access the verify door.
When prompted for your name to log on remotely, do this at the prompt.
FIRST NAME > (you type) SECRET
LAST NAME > (you type) NAME
If you don't log on remotely on your board disregard this.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like to thank Curtis Kowalski for implementing the PCBV.SYS
system into PCBVERIFY. Without this the program would be impossible
to run on an RBBS system. During the writing of RBBSPCBV I was constantly
in touch with Curtis concerning the layout of the PCBV.SYS file. For this
I would like to thank him publicly for taking the time to answer my
questions. THANKS CURTIS !!!!
Gary Mcgill
The man who for some reason or another isolated himself from the world
while we worked on this thing is to be thanked also. He is the one
responsible for digging out much of the information required by RBBS in
updating the users level after verification (registered versions).
THANKS GARY !!

Make a batch file in RBBS directory to access the door
Copy the ZIP files from RBBSPCBV.ZIP and PCBV30B7.ZIP into the PCBV
directory.
Make sure your users, messages, and RBBS-PC.DEF files are in a directory
called C:\RBBS
Be sure and place the name of your door in MENU5 and MENU5C
That should get you going !!!!!
